About Blendflare
A community-driven repository for Blender resources
How It Started
While working on Brender Studio , an open-source render farm for Blender on AWS, we needed all kinds of Blender files for testing: scenes with compositor nodes, heavy meshes, grease pencil, different render engines, etc. That's when we ran into a frustrating problem: finding properly organized Blender resources was really hard. Everything was scattered across Drive links, DropBox, forums, and you often didn't know what you were downloading until after the fact.
As Blender users ourselves (mostly for personal stuff and learning), we thought this was something worth fixing. That's how Blendflare started.
The idea is simple: a place where you can find Blender resources. Not just 3D models, but also tutorials, materials, node setups, technical demos, all properly tagged and searchable. We're still figuring things out as we go.
About Brender Studio: We built it while learning to build more complete systems. It worked, but had several issues: users needed their own AWS accounts and had to configure IAM, request GPU quotas, and deploy CloudFormation stacks. This created too much friction for new users, and we didn't have the time to maintain it properly.
With the experience we've gained working with AWS since then, we think we could solve those problems in a future rewrite.
Hopefully Blendflare can become useful for other people in the Blender community.

Where We Are Now
Blendflare is a bootstrapped, self-funded project. We're working on it in our spare time while also looking for work opportunities. The platform is in early development, which means:
- •Things might break occasionally
- •Features are being added gradually
- •We're learning and improving as we go
- •The collection is growing organically through community contributions
We're exploring ways to keep this sustainable long-term. Maybe through sponsorships, donations, or non-intrusive ads similar to what Blender Artists uses. But right now, our focus is just making the platform actually useful.
